1. Spend a lot of time on the design phase. It's easier to use an eraser and pencil than to need a crowbar and hammer.

2. Think in 3 dimensions not only 2.

3. Hire a reliable general contractor with experience with modular homes.

4. Don't forget about where the ductwork supply and returns will be located as well as all the utilities (i.e. water, electric, gas, sewer, cable, phone, AC compressor and air handling)"
